Howard University Musical Theatre Class of 2022

Joi Henry, originally from Brooklyn, New York, is an actor pursuing a career on stage and in film. She earned her BFA from Howard University’s College of Fine Arts. Throughout her matriculation, her favorite roles on and off stage include all her Stage Manager opportunities and her role as Old Ma Strong in Urinetown: The Musical. Joi views the stage as her happy place and aims to bring everyone the same happiness she feels no matter what part she plays. Though her degree is performance-based, her goal is to be involved in all aspects of the performing arts industry. From commercial jingles to stage management, she wants to do it all. Often cast as the independent thinker, her characters embody the power in being perfectly imperfect and discovering oneself. When she’s not working, you can find her trying new foods.
